I have decided to embark on an adventure into the unknown.
The plan is simple: Saigon to Istanbul – Overland!
Easy ey? well sure if you take the railroads north through China and Russia, it’s no problem, however, on this trip there are rules…
and the rules are simple:
- No advance organisation of any kind is allowed, other than for specialized functions that require advance organisation.
- All travel must be overland with as many different types of transport used as possible.
- No country is off limits.
- Russia is off limits.
That means there are two paths of travel that at this stage appear remotely safe:
Path 1: India – China – Kazakhstan – Kyrgyzstan – Tajikistan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Azerbaijan – Armenia – Georgia – Turkey
Path 2: India – Pakistan – Iran – Azerbaijan – Armenia – Georgia – Turkey

oh Dicksteins in Bank Place…not Meyers Place…lets hope your geographical skills on your Path 1 and Path 2 are better than last Friday nights efforts!! All the best Jack.
